The QCI-CAT project looks back on a highly successful participation in the 1st KIRAS and K-PASS (KuK) Symposium, held on 11–12 November 2024 in Vienna. Together with our partner X-Net, AIT presented our quantum-secured video chat demo, engaging the national audience and demonstrating how our work not only contributes to EuroQCI but also strengthens Austria’s national security research efforts.

The symposium brought together representatives from research, industry, and public authorities to discuss the latest developments in security and defence research. The program included expert talks, panel discussions, and showcases of innovative technologies addressing current and future challenges in Austria’s security landscape (kiras.at). Our demo was a highlight in illustrating how quantum communication can be applied to practical, secure use cases and how these advancements align with national priorities.

We sincerely thank the organizers for the opportunity to present QCI-CAT at this important event and for creating such a valuable platform for exchange and collaboration in Austria’s security research community.
