X-Net, AIT and ÖIAT win national award for digitalization

The groundbreaking work of the Fake Shop Detector, an AI-based one Technology in the fight against fraudulent online shops and cybercrime was awarded with the renowned national award for Digitalization in the “Lifestyle, Youth and e-Sports” category as part of the 4Gamechangers Festival 2024 in Vienna. The Linz-based Technology solution provider X-Net, together with their project partners AIT and ÖIAT, were chosen for their outstanding performance and commitment to the safety and protection of young people Consumers in online retail honored by State Secretary for Digitalization Claudia Plakolm.

While not directoy related to QCI-CAT, the award highlights the innovative prowess of Austrian companies and research institution and in particular of the QCI-CAT project partners in cyber security.

ABOUT QCI-CAT

Building on the long research experience of Austrian institutions in the field of quantum technologies, the project QCI-CAT aims at an adoption of modern encryption technology based on QKD for highly secure communication between public authorities.

QCI-CAT will investigate and verify new security applications for public authorities, such as secret sharing and message authentication.

Additionally, QCI-CAT will also leverage a research testbed for new technological approaches such as the combination of post-quantum encryption with QKD, long-distance QKD with secured trusted nodes and field trials of quantum repeaters.
